Good questions.

Is there a subscription?
Live scores are included for the first 2 years. After that they're £12 a year, paid once a year. If you don't renew, the box still shows your team's latest result and next fixture, updated once a day. There's no app and nothing to pay monthly.
Which teams can I follow?
Any club our data covers. That's every English club from the top flight down to the fourth tier, the Scottish top flight, and hundreds of leagues around the world. Choose your club from the list during setup, or search for it by name.
How quickly does a goal show up?
During a match the box gets new data every 5 to 15 seconds. How soon a goal appears depends on the data feed, so it can land a little before or a little after the TV pictures, which are often delayed themselves.
Can I watch a game my team isn't in?
Yes. Tap the screen and pick any of today's matches. The box follows that game until you tap Back, or until two minutes before your own team kicks off.
What does it show between matches?
Your team's next fixture, with the date and the kick-off time in UK time. After full time the result stays up for about three hours first.
Does it make a noise?
No. Alerts are on the screen only, so it won't go off in a meeting.
What Wi-Fi does it need?
A 2.4 GHz network. Nearly every home router has one, usually alongside a 5 GHz network with the same name. Networks that need you to sign in through a web page, like some hotel or office Wi-Fi, won't work.
How is it powered?
Through USB-C, from any USB phone charger. It uses 2.5 W at most, so a USB power bank works too. The cable is in the box; the plug isn't.
Can I change my team later?
Yes. On your home Wi-Fi, open footybox.local in a browser and sign in with the password shown on the box. To start setup again from scratch, switch it off and on three times in a row, each time within ten seconds.
Is it official?
No. FootyBox is an independent product. It isn't connected to or endorsed by any club, league or governing body, and it doesn't show crests or league logos. Club names are used only to identify teams, and the colours are inspired by their kits.
Will it keep working?
The box gets updates over Wi-Fi, including security fixes. Each box gets security updates for at least 3 years from the day you receive it. See Security.
Where do you deliver, and when?
The first run is UK only. We'll publish the delivery estimate on the Kickstarter page when the campaign goes live.
Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?
We deliver to UK addresses. Each case is printed to order, so your box is made, tested and posted for you. Delivery options, cost and timing are shown at checkout, and you'll get an email when it's on its way.
Can I send it back?
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, even though your case was made in your colours. Read delivery and returns for how.
Can I buy one as a present?
Yes. Choose the club they support and enter their address for delivery at checkout. The box doesn't need to be set up before it's given: they plug it in and follow the screen.
What if something goes wrong with it?
Email contactfootybox@gmail.com and we'll help. If the box is faulty, we'll repair or replace it. There's also a setup and help guide.
